  • Operating Principle:

    The in-line deflagration flame arresters extinguishe flames traveling at subsonic speeds through precision-engineered flame arresting elements. All flammable gases have a critical gap width, known as the Maximum Experimental Safe Gap (MESG), through which flames cannot pass. The flame arrester’s metallic elements are designed with flange heights smaller than the MESG of the gas or vapor, ensuring the flame is extinguished and prevented from propagating further.

The Model 6113 in-line deflagration flame arrester is designed for installation in short pipelines near potential ignition sources or longer pipelines where the flame propagates at subsonic speeds and has not yet reached the detonation stage. It effectively prevents flames from spreading to surrounding areas.
